Operations Manager

Full-time Dammam, KSA Closing Date: 22/03/2024
We are looking for a qualified and well-experienced Operations Manager to be based out of our office in Saudi Arabia.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
  • Responsible for the operational support for Diving and Life Support systems, Survey (incl. USV) and combined L&M + B&WW products and services from the MATL workshop.
  • Responsible for the safe working practices, toolbox talks, observations and general HSE focus at the MATL Service Centre Dammam.
  • Review and approve all Risk Assessments and method statements.
  • Understand, support, and deliver on Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement objectives.
  • Deliver regular effective communications across the teams aimed at transparency and motivation of the teams and personnel.
  • Assume responsibility for inspection and sign-off of products and services prior to hand-over to the customer. Align this to agreed contract work scope and best in class quality standards. Management Support Responsible for the divisional targets set as per KPIs. Provision of Operations reports to management as required. Responsible for planning, creating, and tracking annual budgets with Ops team. Utilise CRM and ERP systems to forecast resource loading plans and management of same. Mentor and coach workshop personnel to support staff development around operational execution.
Knowledge, Skills + Experience:
  • Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in similar line of business in an operational capacity.
  • Ideally have experience in Survey, B&WW, Lifting certification, Marine or Diving systems products and services.
  • Experience in Survey, Maritime or Diving systems on & offshore operational activities is an advantage.
  • Possess good Customer interface & communication skills.
  • Experienced in use of MS Office tools, CRM, and ERP systems.
QHSE Responsibilities:
  • To consistently work to all Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental standards applicable to Unique System and to assist in the development and improvement of such standards.
  • Comply with Unique Group’s QHSE Management System.
  • Promote a positive QHSE culture in the workplace.
Qualification + Other Requirements:
  • Ideally qualified as a minimum to HNC technical qualification in Mechanical/hydraulics or electrical/electronics.
  • Six Sigma certification and/or experience is desirable but not mandatory.

Factory Operative (Buoyancy + Water Weights)

Isle of Wight, UK Closing Date: 22/03/2024
We are looking for the services of a Factory Operative for our Buoyancy and Water Weights division to be based out of our Isle of White office.

Education/Experience:

The Factory Operative will be responsible for the entire process of bag assembly, adhering to strict QHSE protocols.

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Preparation of panels ready for assembly ensuring in correct order and no defects are identified.
  • Accessing correct CAD file for assembly of material, selecting material type and checking for defects.
  • Cutting material into shape using CAD file.
  • Welding material together.
  • Rigging, including inflating bag, pressure test, attaching correct rig to bag (strops, shackles, metal work).
  • Adhering to strict quality control throughout entire process.
  • Servicing bags, including inflating, testing, inspecting, repairing and replacing items where required.
  • Active commitment to QHSSE, including compliance with QHSSE Policies, and supporting documentation contained within the IMS, as well as adhering to and reporting to management on all aspects of the QHSSE Management System.
  • STOP an activity, at any time, if believed to be unsafe or failing to meet the relevant QHSSE requirements.

Senior Project Manager

We are looking for the services of an academically qualified and well-experienced Senior Project Manager to be based out of our Cape Town office.

Education/Experience:

A Bachelor’s Degree or other relevant Tertiary Qualification in Engineering or related field is required complimented by not less than 8+ years’ plus solid experience as a Project Engineer or Project Manager in Technical Projects in an Industrial environment. This will enable him/her to plan, execute, and finalize projects in accordance with the Integrated Management System, Company Health & Safety Policy, Department Standard Operating Procedures and within budget whilst managing a team of project engineers/junior project engineers.

Key performance areas but not limited to the following:

  • Manage the execution of the design, manufacture and testing of diving, Medical and renewables industry related machinery, equipment, and complete diving systems.
  • Act as Single point responsible for progress monitoring and expediting of the design, Procurement, build and commissioning phases of the project’s delivery of Scope of Work.
  • Act as Project Technical liaison with the engineering office through all phases of the project, Design build and testing.
  • Managing the objectives and deliverables Project managers assigned to manage work packages within the project you are assigned to manage.
  • Management and successful execution of projects with strict contractual constraints, including contract administration, resolution of disputes, tight control of the execution schedule in conjunction with internal stakeholders, Client, and sub-contracted services.
  • Actively identify and manage the close out of actions, Issues and Risk mitigation actions.
  • Managing internal and/or external design work in terms of keeping to schedules, budgets and best practices.
  • Ensure effective communication between departments of the organization for alignment regarding project requirements.
  • Creating and managing project schedules to achieve on-time delivery.
  • Budget control over all aspects of a turnkey projects, i.e., conceptualization, design, procurement, manufacturing, assembly, integration, installation, and testing.
  • Generation of Project Execution plans, product and work breakdown structures.
  • Manufacturing subcontractor management.
  • Always maintaining product quality.
  • Conducting requirement analysis and process Improvements

Skills set, experience and knowledge required:

  • Must have completed courses Project Management.
  • Proven experience in the project management of the design Manufacture and set to work of complex multi discipline equipment and systems.
  • Superior knowledge of an ERP system MS Project or similar software is a must.
  • Must have strong skills with contract management and dispute negotiations.
  • Fully computer literate.
